We are a small residential care home for the elderly near Wragby and are currently seeking a caring individual to join our friendly team as a Care Assistant. We are looking for people who have a passion for looking after elderly people who show empathy, compassion and an ability to care.


Hourly rate is £10.47 - £10-80. Paid overtime, paid breaks, free carparking. Work clothes and changing facilities. Transport essential 


Hours of work are 36-40 hours per week as per rota.

Shifts are 8-6, 2-10pm and will include weekend cover. 

Experience preferred and eligible to work in UK. 

Transport will be required as we are not on public transport routes.


Qualifications:

  • Experience of working the care sector preferred
  • Level 2 in Health and Social Care desirable, or a commitment to complete within 1 years
  • An interest in caring for elderly people.

 

Scope of the job

  • To be involved and contribute towards the general care and well being of all residents 
  • To be directly involved in the personal care of residents.
  • To work with individual residents providing emotional support and encouraging social interaction
  • To work in partnership with residents encouraging choice, participation, motivation and risk taking, adhering at all times to the values of the resident
  • To develop professionally through experience and training

 

Principal Responsibilities.

 

  1. Assist residents in a manner to promote their independence and involvement in their care and which is also respectful of resident’s rights, choices and beliefs.
  2. To assist the residents with their care needs in accordance with their care plan and or instruction from senior staff.
  3. To carry out or support an individual with personal care including help with washing, dressing and toileting.
  4. Provide support with mobility and meals in accordance with care plans
  5. Report any changes in a resident’s condition to the Manager or Senior Care Assistant.
  6. Be familiar with and work in accordance with the homes policies and procedures.
  7. Respond to requests from residents either by call bell or other means of communication in a positive, polite and helpful manner.
  8. Follow Infection Control Procedures to ensure safety of all, self, residents and others
  9. Maintain confidentiality.
  10. Accept duties as delegated provided these are within the scope of the individual.
  11. Contribute to the development of the home by attendance at staff meetings and involvement in team discussion.
  12. Participate in training sessions and adopt a positive attitude to self development.
  13. To undertake other duties which may be required and which are applicable to the post.
