Qualified Nursery Practitioner

Nurse Seekers are proud to be working on behalf of a fantastic ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rated Nursery in Droitwich Spa, Worcestershire. The successful candidate must have a real passion for childcare and be able to work as a member of the nursery team to ensure that all children attending the setting receive high quality care!

Essential

·       Childcare and Education qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 2 or 3 or above.

·       Be able to engage with children, staff and be creative.

·       First Aid qualification.

·       Sound knowledge of childcare development from birth to five years.

·       Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding.

·       Strong communication and supervisory skills.

·       Ability to think critically, make decisions and work flexibly.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high standards of quality within the nursery including the environment, resources and experiences offered to children.
• Ensure that children are kept safe and that staff understand, and when necessary follow safeguarding procedures.
• Build strong relationships with parents and staff
• Ensure the nursery always meets Ofsted requirements
• Provide a safe, nurturing, and inspiring education environment for children
• Work as a team with other staff members.
• Work in partnership with parents, carers and other family members.
• Work with the manager and inspectors during inspections by regulatory bodies and to assist in the implementation of any recommendations.
• Observe, support and extend children ‘s learning and maintain children’s records.
• Plan appropriately for children using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum for guidance.
• Relationship’s with outside agencies and professionals, such as area SENCO that may visit the setting.
• Undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by line management.
• Be available to work flexible shift patterns to meet the needs of the nursery between the hours of 7.30 am until 6pm.
• When required be able to work hours in evenings and at weekends for promotional events and parents evenings.
• Learn about current developments in childcare and education policy and practice.
