We are looking for a Support Worker to join our extra care South Birmingham, West Midlands.

 

Brief Job Description:

 

The Support Worker will support vulnerable older people in their own homes providing support to individuals in a person centred way which includes various activities i.e. shopping, cooking, assisting with personal care and administering medication.

You will need to maintain care, support skills as detailed within the individual care plans and risk assessments. Record keeping and communication skills are essential to ensure effective teamwork to meet people’s needs. You will be required to undertake such training and development as necessary from time-to-time be develop your career.

Ideally you will have previous experience working within a residential care or supported living setting with vulnerable people and hold NVQ Level 2 in care or an equivalent qualification. However, applications from candidates with no experience who can demonstrate the caring qualities and values that we seek in our staff are welcome.

The Support Worker will have a responsibility to deliver our service in accordance with standards agreed with the Registered Manager, Registered Provider, relevant regulations, and in line with accepted best practice.

 

Essential skills/Experience Experience is advantageous but not necessary. A full programme of training will be offered to candidates who have the ability and enthusiasm to learn with a view to obtaining relevant QCF or equivalent vocational qualifications.
