Care workers provide a service to individuals in their own homes and communities, who need assistance caring for themselves as a result of sickness, health, disability, age and/or other inflictions. Tasks will include personal care duties such as bathing, administering medication and meal preparation. We also provide domestic support, respite, companionship, transportation, social outings for clients. These duties are not exhaustive.

Care workers are responsible for ensuring quality services are delivered in a caring and respectful manner, in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.


£11.50ph during probation, can be flexible for the right person

                                                                    

Working Schedule

You will be emailed your schedule on a Friday for the following week, our rotas run from Monday- Sunday.

 

You will be expected to work every other weekend and shifts as per your rota this will include early mornings and a minimum of 2 late evenings. 

 

Our call times start from approximately 06.30am and finishing by 22.00pm. Your working hours will be dictated and agreed by your availability. However, part time working is available subject to the On-going rota.

 

Reporting Relationship

Care workers report to Field Care Supervisor(s) and Registered Manager

 

Responsibilities:

·     Meal planning and preparation, routine housekeeping activities such as making/changing beds, dusting, vacuuming, washing floors, cleaning kitchen and bathroom, and laundry.

·     Provide companionship including social interactions, conversations, emotional reassurance and encouragement of activities that stimulate the mind.

·     Talk, listen, share experiences, play games/cards, read to client etc.

·     Accompany clients to hospital appointments, day centres and social events. (if correct car insurance is in place)

·     Assist with plans for visits and outings.

·     Perform/assist with essential shopping/errands, which may include handling the client’s money in accordance with the care plan.

·     Participate in the Care Team by providing input and making suggestions.

·     Ensure service is delivered in accordance with all relevant policies, procedures and practices.

·     Monitor supplies and resources within client’s homes.

·     Follow the written care plan and risk assessment.

·     Carry out duties as assigned by the supervisors and office staff.

·     Observe clients and their environments and report unsafe conditions to the office.

·     Observe and report any changes within a client’s physical or emotional health and well-being to the office immediately.

·     Complete and maintain records of daily activities and direct hours of service.

·     Attend induction, in-house training sessions and staff meetings as and when required in adherence to current law and legislation.

·     Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.

·     Make decisions and solve problems.

·     Observe, receive and obtain information from relevant sources such as District Nurses or GP’s, inform the office of outcomes.

·     Perform other duties as required.

 

 

Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge within the care sector including previous experience.
  • Basic knowledge of the English language.
  • Good communication skills.  
  • Completed qualifications within Health and Social Care.
  • The ability to establish and maintain professional relationships.
  • To be caring, patient and compassionate.
  • Ability to work as part of a team but also be self-motivated and work on own initiative.
  • Be practical, methodical and flexible.

The post holder must at all times respect the confidentiality of information in line with the requirements of the Data Protection Act and the company’s policies and procedures. This includes, if required to do so, obtain, process and/or use information held on a computer in a fair and lawful way, to hold data only for the specified registered purposes and to use or disclose data on to authorised persons or organisations as instructed.
