Room Leader

 

Nurse Seekers is proud to be recruiting a Room Leader on behalf of a fantastic, high-quality Nursery based in Shirley, Solihull. The successful candidate must be an energetic and passionate individual with a real passion for childcare and want to work with children to fulfil their greatest potential!

Essential Criteria

 

  • NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent or above.
  • Experience of support work in an EYFS setting.
  • Experience of working to OFSTED Standards.
  • Able to form excellent relationships with children.
  • Able to form good working relationships with other team members
  • Knowledge of EYFS Curriculum requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding learning opportunities and exceptional care.
  • Make accurate and effect assessments of the children during the stages of development.
  • Communicate with colleagues, parents/carers to meet the individual needs of the children.
  • Prepare and Supervise Activities.
  • To have responsibility for a group of key children and ensure all children in the room are allocated a key person.
  • Support all staff and contribute to a positive working environment.
  • Create an enabling environment where all children can reach their potential through a ‘child centred’ approach.
  •  To be flexible within working practices of Nursery. Be prepared to help where needed, including to undertake certain domestic jobs within Nursery, e.g. preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment etc.
  • Undertake duties of the Deputy Manager and/or Nursery Manager in their absence or when required on a temporary basis.
  • To be involved in out of working hours activities, e.g. training, monthly staff meetings, Summer fayre, Christmas party etc.
  • Look upon the Nursery as a “whole”, where you can help, be most utilised, and be constantly aware of the needs of children.
  • To keep records of development and achievement on your key children, for parents to view. These may be online, and paperwork based.
  • Take fees and payments from parents, attend managers meetings and support all staff if developing their skills.
  • To lead your team in ensuring they keep up to date records of the achievements of their children and monitor and supervise them, giving action when required if they fall behind.
