Nursery Manager

We are looking for an experienced nursery manager to join the team at Senator Preparatory School!

Full time

Monday - Friday

All year round (49 weeks per year)

MUST have previous managerial experience

Requirements :

1. Considerable experience of deputizing or managing a nursery setting
2. Qualification: Level 3 or above in early years
3. Sound understanding of child development
4. Ability to implement the EYFS curriculum
5. Ability to work with parents and to encourage their involvement
6. Ability to work with SEN children
7. Ability to lead a team of adults
8. Commitment to equal opportunity
9. Ability to plan and deliver a wide and variety programme in accordance with the EYFS
10. Ability to work with outside agencies and other professionals
11. Willing to undertake any necessary training requirements
12. able to work under pressure, conscientious and good command in communication and having the command of using ICT.

• Overall Management Responsibility for the Early years setting
• Providing effective day to day management of the nursery
• To be responsible for any tasks delegated by the company Director
• To support all staff within the nursery.  

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

· To deliver and ensure a high standard of learning, development and care for children aged 0-5

· To manage the day to day activities of the setting

· To ensure that the preschool nursery is a safe environment for children, staff and others

· To developing partnerships with parents/carers to increase involvement in their child’s development.

· To manage other staff within the childcare setting

· To be responsible for any tasks delegated by the director

MAIN ACTIVITIES:

· Overall day to day management responsibility for the childcare setting.

· To be responsible for the efficient running of the childcare setting and overall delivery of a high-quality service

· To ensure the childcare setting provides safe, caring, stimulation and educational environment, both indoors and outdoors, at all times

· To ensure that the childcare setting plans appropriate play based Early Years Foundation stage (EYFS) CURRICULUM THAT ENABLES CHILDREN TO MAKE INDIVIDUAL PROGRESS

· To ensure the childcare setting always meets Ofsted requirements

· To manage, supervise and support the childcare setting staff

· To undertake, and assign designated officer roles

· To work with other professionals in the local area for the benefit of children and families

· To ensure all staff understand and work to the childcare policies and procedures including how to deal with child protection issues appropriately and how to respond to incidents, accidents, complaints and emergencies

· Take responsibility for planning, which ensures each child is working towards the early learning goals.

· To organise and participate in the key person system

· To conduct staff appraisals and supervisions as appropriate and to identify staff training needs

· To ensure all records are properly maintained in accordance with policies and procedures of the company.

· To liaise closely with parents/carers, informing them about the nursery and its curriculum exchanging information about children’s progress and encouraging parents’ involvement

· To work in partnership with senior management to update and review the self-evaluation and improvement plan

· To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed, in accordance with the childcare setting aims and objectives.
