After many years of inspiring the scientific curiosity of thousands of young children through Little Scientists Club, we decided to expand our offering by designing unique and affordable childcare that enables children to experience science alongside the EYFS curriculum.


We are currently seeking an experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant for our family-run Nursery in the heart of Queen's Park (NW6 London). The successful candidate will be responsible for working closely with our teachers to create a stimulating and engaging learning environment for our students.


Our location is perfect for your commute. Only a 5/10 minute walk from:


  • Queen's Park station (Bakerloo line and Overground)
  • Brondesbury Park station (Overground
  • Kilburn station (Jubilee line).
  • We are also close to the park and a number of lovely coffee shops.

  • Salary is over £24,000 per year (depending on experience)



Responsibilities:

  • Working as part of a team to provide an enabling environment in which children can learn and develop.
  • Seeking a long-term position. A minimum of one academic year is required.
  • Have an in-depth understanding of the EYFS.
  • Take ownership of the observation, assessments, and planning for your key children in line with EYFS and provide developmentally challenging next steps.
  • Observing, supporting, and extending children's learning.
  • Creating individual learning journey records and evaluating key children's learning and development progress.
  • Provide a safe and supportive learning environment for our children.
  • Maintain staff-to-child ratios.
  • Ensure we encourage and praise children’s development and achievements.

Schedule:

  • 10-hour shift (i hour unpaid lunch break)

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • SALUSBURY ROAD, NW6 6RL: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:

  • A-Level or equivalent (preferred)

Experience:

  • Early childhood education: 1 year (required)

Language:

  • English (preferred)

License/Certification:

  • DBS CERTIFICATE (required)
  • Level 2 qualification in childcare (or above)? (required)

Work authorisation:

  • United Kingdom (required)
Essential skills/Experience Previous experience working within Early Years. Proof of accredited qualification (at least NVQ 2). An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service. Fluent or very good spoken English (required). A willingness to undertake relevant childcare qualifications in the future (preferred).
Ideal Candidate/Profile A flexible, collaborative, and adaptable working style. A good level of written accuracy and high attention to detail. Comply with the Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework (EYFS). Experience in planning activities and writing observations.
