Post Title: Personal Assistant/support worker
Job Summary: To be responsible to the Service Manager. To work for Sambhana Care in acting as a support worker for the main carer of an adult with learning disabilities or autism
Please note this role is male only due to clients needs. The carer will be working with 1 individual who has a package of care for 30 hours per week. The 30 hours can be split over a 7 day period or depending on the service users needs.
The appointment will only exist whilst the service is required within the structure of the service.
- PA’s are required to: provide assistance to service user’s with a range of learning difficulties to develop daily living skills by facilitating their participation in:
- Cudgeting,
- Shopping,
- Meal planning and preparation.
- Supervision of personal and general daily living activities, to include all aspects of personal care and hygiene.
PA’s are required to:
- Help maintain the service user’s environment to include all aspects of Health and Safety, to record and report any incidents regarding the health and safety of both the service user and the PA’s
- To record and report any concerns around safeguarding issues.
- To ensure that safety and wellbeing of the service user is paramount to the service provision.
PA’s may be required to:
- Work outside of the home environment as agreed by the service user/statutory services and the Service Manager of Sambhana Care.
- PA’s may also be required to attend arranged activities as agreed by the service user/statutory services and the area Service Manager of Sambhana Care.
- The support worker may be required to use their own personal car or public transport in the course of their duties, for which they will be reimbursed at a rate of 0.35pence per mile, to be paid through their wages.
This list is not exhaustive, but serves as a guide to the tasks required of the support worker/ PA on duty for the company, there may be times when staff are required to carry out additional task that fall in line with their scope and capabilities.
Sambhana Care is a very different home care service as we specialise in care for older people and respite care for adults with learning disabilities.
