Kitchen Assistant

Our Client are looking to employ a Kitchen Assistant for their excellent Private Day Nursery based in near Highbury, London. The successful candidate must exercise a general duty of care for work colleagues and to be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.

Key Responsibilities

·        Clear breakfast table and breakfast room and clean breakfast dishes

·        Keep the kitchen hygienically clean at all times, ensuring the cleaning tasks are completed on time and to a high standard

·        Keep the basement sanitised throughout excluding toilets (including basement stairs)

·        Support the cook with rotation of food

·        Support the cook with food deliveries

·        Support the cook with lunch set up

·        Clean pots/pans, dishes and utensils etc after meal times

·        Clear tables after lunch and tea

·        Sweep and mop dining room floors after meal times

·        Fill/empty dishwasher,

·        Keep the dishwasher cleaned internally, making sure there is sufficient detergent and rinse aid in the machine at all times and clear of limescale

·        Empty kitchen bins

·        Follow cleaning rota in the kitchen, sign and date

·        Locking up procedures including freezer check, plugs etc

·        To undertake food and hygiene training and qualify every 3 years

·        Liase with other staff to ensure they follow kitchen routine.

·        To take responsibility for aspects of the work of the nursery as required by the management team
