Little Nightingales Day Nursery are looking for Level 2 and Level 3 Nursery practitioners to join the team working a minimum of 2 or three full days, Term time or all year. We are a small home from home nursery that takes pride in providing high-quality provision for children from the age of 3 months to 5 years for 17 years. From a recent update on our rooms, we can advise we are EXPANDING allowing us to take on a new staff member for each room.
Requirements:
- Full time /Term time
- Minimum of 2 full days - 5 full days per week
- Level 2 or Level 3 in Childcare
- Knowledge of the EYFS
- Previous Childcare experience
Little Nightingales Day Nursery is found in the village of London Colney, Hertfordshire with excellent transport links with the M25 less than a mile away.
Our children have access to two outdoor play areas and have three large setting rooms for employees to work and experience different age ranges making this a beautiful place to learn and work in. As an Early Years Practitioner, you need to be providing an emotionally secure, warm, stimulating and safe environment, appropriate to the needs of individual children. There must be excellent knowledge of the Early Years foundation stage and you need to implement these in your daily work.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring routines are being followed and run smoothly
- Ensuring that all policies and procedures are being followed
- Being an excellent role model to the other staff in your room
- Understanding all policies and procedures of the nursery and being able to answer relevant questions from parents/carers/outside agencies (i.e OFSTED)
- Welcoming all children and parents to the nursery and helping them settle. (irrespective of their rooms)
- To provide a wide and varied range of activities for the children individually and as a group appropriate to their needs and developmental stage.
- Laying out and setting up the nursery and storing away equipment appropriately.
- Explaining activities to children and providing help if necessary.
- To encourage the children with their language development and positive verbal response.
- To organise creative activities and displays for the walls and help display the children’s work.
- Maintain a clean and tidy nursery and garden area and ensure books, toys and equipment are clean and in good order.
- Provide a high standard of health and hygiene
