Purpose of the job: To work as a key person and as part of the pre-school team under the direction of the room leader and manager to provide safe, high quality
Education and care for young children. To maintain a stimulating and enjoyable
environment.

Main duties
- To assist with the planning of the curriculum.
- Carry out risk assessments for the environment daily
- Support each other as educators in a professional manner.
- To help set up the playroom/s for the daily programme and to help tidy away at the end of the session, ensuring that all toys and equipment are clean and safe at all times.
- Clear breakfast cutlery to kitchen every morning, washing utensils.
- Assist with lunch cover.
- To act as a key person to a small group of children, liaising closely with parents/carers and ensuring each child's needs are recognised and met.
- To advise the room leader or manager of any concerns e.g. over children, child protection, parents/carers or the safety of equipment, preserving confidentiality as necessary.
- To be aware of any special needs a child may have and to familiarise oneself with relevant play and learning plans.
- To teach children, offering an appropriate level of support and stimulation.
- To attend staff meetings.
- To attend in-service training courses and meetings as required.
- To keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff which is acquired as part of the job.
- To keep up-to-date with current good practice.
- To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the room leader and Director Manager, in accordance with the nursery business plan/objectives. Responsibility of opening and closing of premises.
- Room Leaders are to support staffs with practise and offer support through supervision meetings.
Essential criteria
- Willingness to learn.
- CACHE Level 3 Childcare, NVQ level 3 or equivalent/ Level 3.
- An enhanced CRB check which confirms suitability to work with children.
- Previous experience of working with young children.
- Commitment to diversity and equal opportunities.

- Health clearance for the role.
- Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
- Good customer awareness.
Desirable criteria
- Cache Level 3 Diploma in Pre-school Practice or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
- Montessori Diploma / level 4 MCI
We are located in Hounslow Central with very good access to London public transport buses, underground and the national rail a short walk away too. Hounslow Central / Piccadilly Line is the nearest tube line with easy access to Heathrow westbound or eastbound Central London.
Bambinos Mont Nursery is a small, owned stand-alone nursery now operating for 13 years. I have had the opportunity to run over the last 13 years 3 separate nurseries however since COVID lockdown I am now just focused on the one here in Hounslow. As a manager I am present daily and on site to meet everyone needs and demands which staffs do find great and reassuring (hence why I said this was a great benenfit, not every nursery has its owner/ manager there present working actively)!
We operate over 3 classrooms; Little Bambinos works with under 3's from birth. Then 2 preschool based classes with vertical ages from 3-5 years. Montessori practise is used within day to day learning therefore it is great if the practitioner has knowledge however a s a Montessori teacher I do teach on site and offer online training tools.

Children are encouraged through play to develop freedom of movement, freedom to express, rest, explore, and socialise. Montessori philosophy also allows children to make mistakes and to learn from them. After all it is through these mistakes that we are encouraged to better ourselves.
The nursery setting itself is in a bright, clean and colourful environment with ample space for the children to experience role play, creative activities, and to play and learn individually as well as in groups. For the benefit of a childs development, our children are placed into vertical groups. Vertical grouping is where we encourage mixed age groups of children. There are many advantages, namely it builds confidence, learning from one another and the additional benefit of the younger children gaining knowledge from the older children. This also gives the whole group stimulation to prepare them for adult social interaction.
