Position: Care Assistant

Location: Client's Home in Bury St Edmunds Sufflok, and other clients home in the community

Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Hourly Rate: £15 per hour

Reports To: Care Manager / Client's Family

Job Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Care Assistant to provide high-quality care and companionship to an elderly client. The ideal candidate must speak Spanish, have experience caring for older adults, and be capable of performing a range of personal care and household tasks. The candidate should also be able to drive, prepare Mediterranean food, and accompany the client on walks and to appointments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Personal Care:
• Assist the client with daily personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Administer medication as prescribed and ensure it is taken safely.
• Meal Preparation:
• Prepare nutritious Mediterranean meals tailored to the client's dietary needs and preferences.

• Mobility and Exercise:
• Accompany the client on walks in the park to promote physical activity and well-being.
• Provide assistance with mobility around the home to prevent falls and ensure safety.
• Transportation:
• Drive the client to appointments, social engagements, and other necessary outings.
• Ensure the client arrives on time and safely to all destinations.
• Companionship:
• Provide friendly and engaging companionship, promoting mental and emotional well-being.
• Engage the client in conversations, activities, and hobbies they enjoy.
• Household Tasks:
• Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and organized living environment.
• Perform tasks such as laundry, tidying up, and dishwashing.
• Communication:
• Communicate effectively in Spanish to ensure the client's comfort and understanding.
• Report any changes in the client's condition to the family or care manager promptly.

Qualifications:

• Language Skills: Fluent in Spanish (required).
• Experience: Proven experience in caring for older adults, including personal care and medication administration.
• Driving: Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Culinary Skills: Ability to prepare Mediterranean food.
• Physical Fitness: Capable of assisting with mobility and accompanying the client on walks.
• Interpersonal Skills: Friendly, patient, and able to provide compassionate companionship and flexible
