Qualified Nursery Practitioner

Nurse Seekers are proud to be working on behalf of a fantastic day nursery who are looking to employ a passionate and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join their setting based near Sutton Coldfield. This warm and welcoming setting offers age appropriate spacious rooms with excellent resources and large outdoor garden, ensuring children are happy, secure and ready for school.

Main purpose of the job

To work as a member of the team and provide a child centred environment, ensuring the needs of the individual child are met. As well as implementing the daily routine and providing a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care.

Key Responsibilities

· To plan and operate a programme of activities suitable to the age range and

developmental stage of the children in conjunction with other staff – being aware at all

times of the EYFS

· To be a part of carrying out observations and assessments

· To be a key person and be part of maintaining up to date records on the children

including learning Journals and health and wellbeing diaries as appropriate to the age of

the child

· To be aware of and support at all times the personal care needs of each individual child

including feeding, changing etc

· To set out appropriate and stimulating activities prior to the start of each session and help

clear away at the end

· To undertake the preparation of work as required

· To ensure that all routines and activities are conducted with due regard to health and

safety, and the wellbeing of the children and staff at all times

· To ensure equality of access regardless of ethnicity, gender, culture or disability working

with the groups equal opportunities policy.

· To support all staff and engage in a good staff team

· To be flexible within the working practices of the group. Be prepared to help where

needed, including undertaking certain domestic duties e.g. preparation of healthy meals

and snacks, cleaning of equipment etc

· Recording accidents in line with the groups policy, providing first aid as appropriate

· Being aware of allergies, medical conditions etc of the children within the group

· Ensure children are collected by someone detailed on the child’s record cards or with

parents’ permission at all times

· To respect the confidentiality of information received and work within the groups

confidentiality policy

· At all times be aware of and meet the requirements of the EYFS

· To at all times be alert to issues of safeguarding ensuring that the welfare and safety of the children is promoted and safeguarded and to report any child protection concerns using the settings safeguarding policies and procedures
