Role overview: -
The Nursery Cook, plays a vital role to ensure the health and happiness of our Little Bunnies.
Working closely with the Nursery Manager and senior team, you will be contributing to the smooth operation of the kitchen, creating fresh, healthy and exciting meals for the children.
Responsibilities: -
To provide nutritious and delicious meals for the children whilst ensuring compliance with allergy and dietary requirements.
Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment, whilst ensuring a safe space for food preparation.
Serving meals and snacks in line with all allergen information and food hygiene standards.
Taking ownership of the kitchens upkeep for the washing and sterilising to proper storage. Maintaining the Food Hygiene rating = 5
Be a champion of nutritious choices and providing a insight into the children’s nutritional needs.
Qualifications and skills
Requirement: -
Level 2 or 3 Food Safety and Hygiene Certificate.
Previous experience of working as a cook or chef and preferably within a childcare setting and proficiency in food safety and kitchen compliance.
Strong communication skills, engaging with children and parents when discussing food and nutrition.
Team player, being able to have a positive attitude when building relationships within the setting.
